Philips 8x DVD-/+R 25 Pack - $19.99 @ Circuit City

Postby Ian on Mon Aug 02, 2004 12:34 pm

I know hydrogen has been asking for faster Philips media. Circuit City has their 8x DVD+R and DVD-R 25 packs on sale for $19.99 after two $10 MIR's.

Thank you Ian.

Finally Philips got faster media in the US. It's about time =D>

What's bad is that I heard that they are using Cmc media and not their own Philips media. If this is true that really ticks me off. I wanted their own media they make. We can get 8x Cmc from Memorex.

I think Philips own 8x dvd media is suppose to be real good. That's why I wanted to try some.

I wonder why Philips won't sell it here. That kind of makes me mad. Where did you get yours at? You must live overseas right?

when neither of you (Hydrogen and uknown1234) list where you live, or even what land mass you are on, how can anyone know what "over seas" is referring to?

One can assume Hydrogen is in the states based on his familiarity with Circuit City (maybe). ;)

That's strange that you got Philips C08 when buying Khypermedia. Usually Khypermedia sales Cmc which usually performs badly.

Do those Philips disc do good?

Where they sold as 4x media? If so that is odd that they put 8x media in there. I would like get some Philips C08. Can you tell me exactly what type of packs they were, what speed they were sold as, and is there anyway to tell your getting Philips media? Has anyone else got another kind of media in those packs?

they were sold as green faced 50 pack spindles labeled value disc. they burn nicely in 832, 822, and 1600 can burn up to 12x nicely. I thought it was strange too. I had 2 packs I got with the the special I mentioned before. but i recently went to pick another 50 spindle at the same location but got cmc mag f01 this time. I have not seen any differences on the way they look but will double check and post if there is. I can't compare labels unfortunately as I thru them away.
I guess I was just lucky that day.

Apparently, some Officemax stores have Khypermedia 50 packs for $19.99 this week.
Whoever received PHILIPSC08 discs, can you please describe the packaging exactly and point out any possible distinctions that would allow someone to identify a PHILIPSC08 pack?
