Dual Channel Ram

Have just orders a Gigabyte M/B with dual channel capabilities and 2 x 512 pc3200 DDR 400MHz Ram

now my question is when operating in dual channel mode will the PC see 512 MB ram or 1 GB???

The computer will show only 512MB of RAM.But if you plug in the modules in the correct slots the memory will run in dual channel mode.

no, no, the computer will see 1gb of memory, in dual channel operation

to make sure your running in dual channel mode in windows, download this program:

http://www.cpuid.com/

after you run the program click on the memory tab

also you might want to tweak the cas timings on the memory to get even better performance, but it all depends on which mobo and memory you bought

Sorry.I read 2 X 512 as only 512 MB.Sorry guys.I thought he was saying he had 512 MB of memory that he wants to run in DC mode.
