Help with Firmware flash on DVR 108 Pioneer

Postby yamawho on Wed Sep 01, 2004 3:41 pm

Hi all, it's been awhile ...

I purchased this drive yesterday with firmware 1.04 and noticed that the 1.10 firmware is out.

Decided to do some digging and found this.

Looks like a firware update will not work if Intel drivers are installed instead of M$ defaults.

Is this outdated info ?

Can someone confirm this to be true ?
The more I figure out, the more I realize how little I know.

I decided to flash it and the flash was good.

I moved the drive to an amd system to be on the safe side.

I got it here

I was able to flash both of my 108 with the Intel drivers loaded. Far as I know, Sony is the only one that warns against running their firmware updates when IAA is loaded.

IAA can cause problems with many different firmware flashing programs. It's best to remove it before flashing, but is not always required.

hmm thats something i just thought of

with a slipstream of sp2 install on win xp pro i didn't have to install the intel chipset drivers

like in sp1 slipstream install when i got into windows it would need the drivers installed, according to device manager anyways
