They are nice and vague on most of these "fixes" aren't they? I'm curious if nero yet supports adding the layer break flag into ifos when burning dual layer. Ie seamless layer break support. Anybody know?oslik3 wrote:Fixed a problem with DVD+R9 DL burning

Solved a minor localisation problem
Solved a minor GUI problem
But. . . I tested this update on 2 different system. There is a new GUI problem where the "HD" tab no longer shows up when "Enable all recorder formats" is selected.

Or the opposite: paying attention to any existing layer break flag(s) and making the physical layer break match the position of one of them.
Great thank you. I saw from this thread: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=225001 that there are several issues that (at least in the past) were a problem for nero specifically.CCampbell wrote:I'll check on this for you and get back to you in a couple of days with my findings.

I'd like Ahead to add in the capability to do a customized install. For example, the only 2 apps I really want installed are Burning Rom and Recode.

I've checked with our Engineers, and this is not a bug. For reasons I can not state at this time, this was done purposely. However, if you do have a Recorder that supports HD or DDCD, then these two Tab's will appear in the Nero StartSmart. They just will not appear when you check the option for "Enable All Recorder Formats". Sorry.

So it's fixed in the next release. Excellent. Thank you.CCampbell wrote:Answer:
Nero sets the layerbreak in images bigger than 4.7GB, in case they are below no layerbreak is set. This is the behaviour up from the next Nero version (> 6.3.1.26). Currently no layerbreak is set in the image.
Actually when I've ripped movies with dvddecrypter, and verified them with ifoedit, I can see that the layer break flags are still present. It is only if I then split the dvd with something like dvdfab that the layer break flags get removed. But one wouldn't be using dvdfab with a dual layer backup...CCampbell wrote:Question:

Answer:
Currently this isn't done so far in Nero. Usually the layerbreak is removed
by most riping tools, only in case you have an unprotected DVD and copy the content to HD using the Explorer then the layerbreak in the IFO file is kept.
However we have created a Bug Entry to check for the layerbreak in the IFO file. This will be addressed in a future release."

I have this problem since last 2-3 months and I hope you have some answer for it; the problem is when I ripped Video DVD with DVD Shrink as you know DVD Shrink rip the Video in a temp directory (say C:\MovieTemp) and then after completion of ripping automatically command Nero to burn the ripped file. So far so good, but if later try to burn the ripped file from (C:\MovieTemp) by Nero in Video DVD format then the burn icon in Nero Burning Rom is gray out, if try to burn it in ISO/UDF format then burning icon is active process will be performed but the burnt DVD file will not play in my stand alone DVD player.
I appreciate your comment on this issue.

Hi TCAS,
I'm not seeing this on my systems here. I downloaded the latest Nero 6.3.1.25 as well as the latest DVD Shrink. Used DVD Shrink to Ripp a DVD to my hard drive C:\Temp and then closed DVD Shrink. I then manually launched Nero Express and selected the DVD-Video option. And added the VOB, BUP, IFO files to the Video_TS Folder contained in the Nero Express Window. The BURN button becomes selectable right away. I did get a failed burn due to the media I was working with on the Plextor PX-716A drive, so I switched the drive out for the Plextor PX-712 and that was able to burn without any problems.
Regards,
Craig
