I emailed Plextor Sales yesterday regarding this and the wrote:

Plextor will release its Dual Layer DVD burner sometime next month, however, it will feature a standard EIDE interface (ATAPI) and the SATA version will most likely follow a few weeks later.

Thank you,

If it doesn't support 8x DVD+RWs, 6x DVD-RWs, and DVD-R9 it will be quickly out-shined by the Pioneer DVR-109

Yeah, wait for the official specs. If I had $1 for every time "insider info" like this was wrong, I'd...

...well I'd have a nice pile of money. :P

I can't imagine Plextor is going to be happy that this info has been leaked either. Especially if its wrong like it tends to be.

Well, I'm looking forward to see what comes out in the next month or so.

Didn't TDK just announce a 6X DVD+DL writer?
