In store specials-

Maxtor 60gig w/2mb cache $18.97 after $25 rebate. In store or order online with store pick up.

100 pack of Office Depot CDR $18.00. Manufacturer??

Memorex 52-32-52 $39.97 after $10.00 rebate.

Memorex DVD+R or DVD-R 50 count for $29.97 .

Buy a 100 pack of Office Depot (manufacturer?) DVD+R at $99.97 and get the Iomagic dual format 8x drive free after $30.00 rebate. Anyone know who makes the drive and disks?

50 pack of slim jewel cases 14.99.. Buy one get one free.

EDIT, I would suggest you do some research on the Iomagic burner before buying.

That is a sweet deal, I ordered two with store pick up. I'll grab them Monday when I go to the big city for work ;) Sorry you missed out.

It isn't really THAT good of a deal. It is $0.317/GB for a maxtor with a 2MB cache. I just got a Seagate Barracude for $0.313/GB with 8MB cache. If you're getting two, you might have been better served waiting for a 120GB with an 8MB cache for about the same $/GB.

You make a good point, thanks. But for $19.00 bucks its a good start for an economical system build, rack drive or clone drive.

Unfortunately for me, most of our office computers still use Win98, the blue screen monster.. I like to use these 2 meg cache drives (or older used drives) to clone a system. With the clone drive we can get a fubared system up and running quickly if the operator backs up the data like they are suppose to do..

RE the Seagate, I have been thinking about a tivo upgrade. If you have the time, what size was that drive and where did you find it?

Thank you

PS, Here we are talking about $.313 vs $.317 per gig. Remember when a 30 gig drive would cost about $300 or a meg of ram was $50... we must be getting spoiled.

I got my Seagate 160GB from outpost.com when they were having a sale that coincided with a rebate. Ended up $49.99 after shipping and rebate.

Man, I remember when I had a 486 DX2 66mhz with 8MB RAM and a 452MB HD with a 15" flat monitor. That thing was smoking for about $3000.00. And then I went to a Pentium 1 MMX 166mhz, 32 or 64 MB RAM, and a 4.2GB HD. Man, I thought I'd never fill that drive.
