NERO Recode vs DVD Shrink 3.2?

Postby lrtrees on Sat Oct 02, 2004 3:11 pm

I am in hopes that you might be able to set me straight on this. It seems I have read that the same guy who developed DVD Shrink now works for NERO and helped with Recode. My question is this. I know how to backup my DVD's using Shrink, but if I try to do the same using Recode, it will not work because it says the disk is copy protested, which I am sure it is. Am I doing something wrong or do have a setting wrong? Or is this a limitation to Recode? I am new to using NERO and do not know it very well.

Thanks for your help.

Use DVD Decrypter (freeware) and decode it in File mode. From there import the files. Recode is set up that way so Ahead doesn't get the crap sued out of it by the MPAA.

I've had less problems with Recode of late versus Shrink 3.2.1.5. Can't explain it. I now use Recode exclusively.

I am most confortable with DVD Shrink, I have used Nero Recode, Decrypter and DVD Xcopy, but none can be more user friendly than DVD Shrink.
