OPTORITE DD1205 12X12 Du-Layer question

Postby Chandler Mike on Tue Oct 12, 2004 12:23 pm

I'm a newbie when it comes to DVD burners, and I basically am looking for a not-so-expensive solution to put my DV movies onto DVD's.

This OptoRite fits my price range, plus I like the Dual Layer idea, if I ever need to make big backups of of data.

But I read the review and saw the HD-Burn technology and my main question is this:

If I buy this, and burn my home movies to it, will it play in my DVD player? I have one that's a year or two old, and an Xbox.

That's basically what I need it for. Not too concerned with speed at the moment, just want to get the movies onto DVD's.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Unless your DVD player supports HD-Burn (and I don't know of any that currently do), it won't be able to read them.

Thanks for that, so glad I didn't go ahead and buy it without researching...

Do you have any recommendations for a good quality burner around $50-70 that would do what I need it to?

I truly appreciate the help, I need to get some family movies put on a DVD for an upcoming reunion...

Thank you, I am taking the one I purchased back and bought this one today. Seems to be a good one, great price, some free DVD's with it.
