NEC-6500A

I have a new laptop with an NEC-6500A drive. I've already updated the firmware from rpc1.org to remove the rip lock and RPC1. Is there a utility to set booktype for DVD+R to DVD-ROM available for this drive? Or does the firmware for this drive even support that? I've been reading about setting the booktype on other NEC drives but can't find any reference to this model.

DVD+R (single layer) is not supported.
DVD+R DL should be set to DVD-ROM booktype automatically.

I think he means that DVD+R (SL) bitsetting is not supported.
