multisession audioCDs

Postby _ritter_ on Wed Nov 10, 2004 7:48 pm

Is there any way to add more files to an audio CD after you have created one session.

For example:

I have burned:

clapton_1
clapton_2
clapton_3

on a CD-R
using Nero Express 6.0.0

using --->Create Audio CD
-->dragging the files onto the interface
--->and burning.

I save and eject disc and it is able to read and play those files.

Next day, I want to add five more Jimmy Page files to that CD.

When I insert the CD and try dragging the files onto the interface, I get a
prompt that the CD cannot be written to.

Many thanks for any assistance is adding audio files during different
session.

Best...

Nero 5.5 finalizes(Closes) all audio CD's,I'm not sure if Nero 6 allows multi-session.But I know RecordNow Max does by using TAO/Not Closed or DAO/Not Closed.
One problem you may encounter with multi-session or TAO audio CD's is compatibility.

by which burninfool meant:
even if you could make a multisession AudioCD, it would most likely be useless (in the sense of what you mean).
most (all?) standalone CD players won't be able to see all the tracks, just the last session i believe.
many players also won't recognizes CDs that are not closed/finalized, so again this becomes rather pointless - you can only listed to the CD after you added all the tracks and closed it.

i just checked Nero 6, create Audio CD.
there's no option for multisession.
you can't do a multisession Audio CD with Nero 6.

Actually, you can create a multisession Audio CD with Nero as long as you select the TAO option and you do not select the Finalize feature.

It will of course close the session, but not the disc, so you can add more audio files.

But as mentioned, no car or home stereo will be able to play any of the added audio files, only those files written in the first session.

Only on your computer will you be able to see and play all the audio files from Session 1, Session 2, Session 3, etc.
