PX-708A or NEC 2500 ?

Postby NoLimit on Fri Nov 26, 2004 5:03 am

i had the 708 when it was first released.from what i've been reading here and on cdfreaks,i decided to buy the nec 2500 (6 months ago) because it has been said that the drive has a great writting quality.

i have posted some of my results here , do i have a faulty drive?

if the drive is ok then i believe that the plextor is a much much better drive, well the results say that the NEC is unusable anyway :s

Plextor vs. Them All

Postby steelly on Fri Nov 26, 2004 7:25 pm

I bought a Plextor 708A a little over a year ago and, it has burned, burned, and burnt somemore. It has never failed on a burn. I started with Verbatim media, then Memorex, and now I use cheapo Ritek G04. I can't overstate how great this product has been. I basically use it with two programs (DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter) and Nero to burn. I also use a Samsung 352B combo drive to complement the Plextor. If the 708A finally goes dead; I will definitely purchase another Plextor product: They are so dependable!

My 708A drive is still going strong! :) (crosses my fingers that it will last for a long time) :D
I use only MAXELL, TAIYO YUDEN, & TDK (TTG01) DVD MEDIA. :) :) :) :)
