8X -R on Pioneer 107

Which 8X DVD-R can the Pioneer 107 burn at 8X?

The reason I ask is because the Prodisc 8X -R can only burn at 4X on the 107 with latest firmware.

Who here has burnt 8X DVD-R with the 107 without using the hacked firmware?

As you can see, all the numbers are quite good, although the Beta minimum and LiteON-832s scores are not as good as I'd like... but the other Plextor scores, and the BenQ scores are all QUITE good!

Negative, I used to run G04's and they burned 4X max w/ official firmware.

Thanks alot guys. I was hoping that the 1.21 firmware would burn Prodisc SO4 at 8X since I'm a huge fan of Prodisc's price/quality.

Pioneer, please release a newer firmware to remedy this!!!!

yeah i guess i must have been using the patched firmware when i had my 107 at the time i was burning g04's

even with my 108 the s04 would only be rated at 4x i think, its been awhile since i used the s04

im now using only TY for my burns

damn bought 200 disc of Prodisc 8X DVD-R media and it will only go at 4x
but my Ritek 8X G05 burns at 12 x fine O.o
should have check the Compatibility before buying oh well

Heh... that's why I never buy Prodisc. ....well, no that isn't why I never buy Prodisc, but the kind of words I'd have to use while describing my reasons would probably need to be 'bleeped' out anyways

I don't use Ritek either actually... not anymore. Only Optodisc and Taiyo Yuden. Optodisc for 99% of my stuff, and Taiyo Yuden for stuff that's important.
