I am having my hands on a 4163B now.... Have you ever seen a disc being written at 12x speed within 5m57s??? Too bad that it only uses P-CAV writing at 12x speed on 16x discs, but Z-CLV writing at 12x speed on 8x discs.... But that's still useful if your hdd or external enclosure is too slow for 16x ;) as in my case. So I can write a dvd+r in under 6 mins at 12x speed via USB 2

Write quality so far excellent on Verbatim 16x +r and Taiyo Yuden 8x +R, but total crap on Ritek G05. The drive tries to write them at 8x, and screws them up at the zone change :D
