It seems fairly quick and considerint the resulting disc is identified as a DVD-ROM, it probably supports bitsetting.

Any idea who makes it? Gigabyte used to use Lite-On..

Is that a BenQ DW1620 OEM? It looks like it from the writing test you did there. Very reminiscent of WOPC!

I thought that too.. but the firmware version is a little odd.

Probably... seems like a number of manufacturers are switching to Nexperia drives but not doing so by rebadging BenQ...

No, it's a Cyberdrive. Compare the front bezels.
