I guess... you'd think dust would have an easier time of getting in your case though. Sound would also be an issue.

Personally, I'm looking for a case with a side mounted hard drive cage. The cases that have them are usually either boring looking.. or expensive.

True on both counts. There is, after all, no such thing as free lunch.

By side mounted, I assume you mean fastened to the side panel rather than the bottom panel? What advantage does this give?

By side mounted I meant that the IDE connectors are facing the side.. not towards the back of the case.

Ah! I understand. Well, the Antec Sonata fits that bill, although it is smaller than your average case and may be too understated for your desires (on the left in the first picture, side mounted hard drive bays in the second picture):

the Antec P160 too, though that's more expensive than the Sonata.

there was a sale at CompUSA for it, $60 after $50 rebate.
