PX-716a Stops Mid-Stream During DVD Burn

Postby duffscudder on Fri Mar 04, 2005 7:08 pm

I have a new px-716a flashed 1.04u. I purchased it to burn DVD's of old, late-80's vintage Video 8 analog video tapes of my daughter. I've connected the output from the video camera to the cable TV input on the ATI video card and am capturing the camera output to MPEG-2 format. I now have a library of .mpg files and am in the process of burning them to DVD using Roxio EMC 7. Some of the files burn to DVD with no problem. Others stop midstream. Attempts to burn the same file again stop midstream at exactly the same place. Viewing the apparently defective .mpg files through Windows Media Player occurs without error. My sense is that there is some sort of error threshhold in the burn process that's being hit and ending the process, although this is just a hunch. Anyone familiar with any settings in the Roxio software where one can tell it to just burn the DVD, no matter how many errors or dropped frames have been encountered? Anyone have any theories on what might be causing the problem?

Think I just answered my own question. Buy Nero, problem goes away.
