when you say dvd game you mean pc dvd game?

or console dvd game

because ive found tons of xbox games that themselves can fit on cd-r without ripping content from the game

but then again your optical drive in your console has to support cd-r, some xbox drives do, like the samsung dvd drives in xbox they read cd-r
Thermaltake Core X5 Snow Edition TG Case
Corsair RM1000 Power Supply
MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
AMD Threadripper 1950x @ 4.1GHz
Custom Loop w/ EK MSI x399 Monoblock
G.Skill 4x8GB DDR4 3200 RGB Memory
MSI 1080Ti Lightning X Video Card

Very very rare when a xbox can read a CD-R (For some stupid reason, CD-RW is almost at the same compatability rate of DVD-R). Nothing makes me laugh more (ok, maybe a few things do) then seeing a 300MB game like Metal Slug 3 on a Dual-Layer 8.5GB xbox disk, what a freakin' waste!
