I've had worse. :)

I bought some GQ 8x DVD-R media from Fry's the other day. (25 pack for $6.25, with a $5 rebate: each disc was 5 cents.)

I knew it wouldn't be good media but I often give discs to friends who might watch it once, so why should I record on the good stuff?

I wrote the discs with my NEC ND-2500A drive and I used CD Speed to test it on my Lite-On SOHW-812S drive.

My PI errors were up in the 1200 range for maximum and PI failures were averaging like 200. (And needless to say the Quality Score was 0.) Strangely, both of my DVD players played the disc fine. But I definitely won't be burning anything for myself on that media. :)

Of course, don't DVD-ROM drives usually give abnormally high error results compared to DVD writers?
