Plextor PX-716A Problem

Hallo #-o Ich habe eine problem mit meine Plextor :evil:
wen die UDMA4 activiert sind unter WinXP der Plextor liest keine CD oder DVD`s wo ist der feller??oder was mache ich falls? :(

ive gathered that there is a udma problem under windows xp

ok sorry Now in English
when my UDMA4 active is My PLEXTOR px-716A dont play any CD`s or DVD`s
I change the Cables and now is windows sees UDMA2 but Plextor is working normal wher is the mistake??

make sure your using udma 4 capable cables, they have twice as many wires in them

and in the bios make sure dma is turned on

one more thing you can try is deleting the drive in device manager then restart windows

If it works normal with UDMA2, could be a timing issue between the drive and your chipset (or drivers). UDMA2 is still fast enough for 16x write, though CRC errors may happen occassionally at the faster rate on some systems.
