more nature pics - this time Caterpillars!

Postby dodecahedron on Sun May 01, 2005 4:06 am

OK so me and the wife&kid went on a Passover vacation - much needed!
since the baby wakes up around 6AM every morning i get up with him and try to keep him busy and quiet so the wife can sleep like a normal person. so i took him out every morning for a stroll in the village where we were staying.

one of the mornings i saw this on the asphalt right next to where i was standing.
at first i thought it was a huge centipede - about a foot long.
after a closer look - it's a train of caterpillars!!!
hooked up toghether ?? anyway they were moving like they were connected to each other. very strange!

next to come (after i have time to sort through the photos) - Vultures!

Hope the vultures weren't too close up :o You sure have an eye for unusual creatures- mantis, cat-train. How about poisonous snakes?

Caterpillar orgy?
A man has been charged after allegedly punching a 73-year-old woman in the face, breaking her nose and stabbing her in the arm with a corkscrew before hitting a second woman with a bottle at a wedding reception in the Whitsunday Islands.
