Sony DRU-800A....should I make the jump?

Postby aristottle on Fri Jul 01, 2005 8:55 am

Hi guys ....Future shop (in Canada) has a Sony DRU-800a retail box on sale for $89.00 Canadian ....a savings of $30.00.

I am wondering if I should make the jump from my dual format 8x DDW-082 Nutech burner (which works great and I have about 500 blank single layer empty dvds)?

There have been a few occasions where the 8.5 gigs offered by dual layer media would have been very useful.....but the media still seems exspensive.

Anyway I was curious as to what people thought I should do...jump now or wait till the media comes down in price?

Hello!

If you´re happy with your Nu-drive, don´t waste money for the DRU 800.

IF you really need DL or faster speeds, There much better drives on the sale than that rebadged Liteon. Pioneer, Benq, NEC and LG makes better drives.
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more

Boost Mobile stole my minutes, then would rather loose me as a customer than give back my minutes (thieves).
