GSA-4163B & DVD+R format type problem

Postby kyrcy on Sun Jul 10, 2005 1:52 pm

I have noticed that when burning DVD+R discs with the GSA-4163B drive (firmware A104/A105) the format type of the burned disc as reported by DVDInfo is incorrect (random numbers instead of the correct 1.02 UDF version). At first I though that this was a software bug, but I have reproduced the problem with a second burning software as well. Can anyone with this drive confirm that this problem?

There is a A105 firmware out, but from what I have read it is not an official one (not on their website).
