Memorex 16x DVD-R...anyone try

Futureshop in Canada has 50 Memorex DVD-R for 19.99 canadian....good price, but how is this media....I used them once and they were OK (4x media), but these are 16x.....too good to be true for the price?

Probally CMC MAG. AM3 if my info is right and if Memorex haven't switched again which is allways the problem with these guys.
Haven't seen much results with CMC MAG. AM3 so far.

actually their 4x media was ok....the 8x was a mess....maybe I will try them...only $19 Canadian....if I do I will post the media code here....

I've been using these discs. The results aren't that great with most drives.. that is if they will actually write to them at 16x. Most write to them at only 4x or 8x.

On a related note.. has anyone gotten Memorex's 16x +R media with MCC codes?

That might be a good idea, at least until drive manufacturers can support them better.

I got MCC 03RG20 code media in my Memorex 16x DVD-Rs :o

Made by CMC though :wink:
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

That would have been expected to me as memorex next move.
So far most the better OEM's do use CMC as manufacturer for the 16x media however they use the stuff with TDK or Mitsubishi midcodes.

how do you know it was made by CMC ? serial number format ?

Yup! And it worked too well to be made by Prodisc :wink: (and it wasn't made in India).

so these are ok then dolph? to use on either 4613b, 1620 or 1640
