It simply reports any media carrying the MCC media code as being manufactured by "Verbatim" which is wrong since Verbatim doesn't do any manufacturing. It should technically say "Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation" since that's the company that actually does the development and production of the dyes used on Verbatim-branded discs (Verbatim is owned by MCC to be sure, but it's just a brand name). Also keep in mind CD-Speed has NO WAY of telling a disc that was actually made by MCC from a disc made by some 3rd tier manufacturer that has "borrowed" the MCC media code.

Well said! On top of that, Verbatim is quite aware of this huge problem with Nero CD/DVD Speed, and hopefully it will be rectified soon! It is a serious mistake to label all MCC code media as being Verbatim, since probably more then 50% of it is *NOT* Verbatim at all.
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
