Wow.... so now the drive is only VERY behind the competition, instead of not even in the race yet

I wonder why CMC is the one Taiwanese manufacturer whose 16x discs (-R anyway, but that's no surprise) Pioneer will actually support at 16x...

Because Prodisc/Ritek/MBI suck for 16x DVD-Rs.

Hmm I'm not so sure about CMC's own 16x dvd-r's being better.

Well... I suppose I am actually thinking about CMC's (non verbatim) MCC03RG20, and not CMCMAGAM3, which always seems to be missing from my Memorex 16x DVD-R spindles :o

If you want CMC 16x DVD-R really then buy RICOH 16x DVD-R !!
It's probally the only A-brad that use the CMC MID disc's.

What media code are your Memorex 16x DVD-R discs? The only MID I see for those on Videohelp is CMC MAG AM3...

Well, it's VERY rare from what I've seen.... I don't know anyone else who got a spindle of it... but because I have it, I don't have any CMCMAGAM3 :(

First batch was CMC newer batch MCC. I don't know what they do with the next batch.. You never know with memorex.

Memorex can be CMC but it seems succes rate these days is 50%.
Ricoh is 100% CMC.

Anyone had problems updating to FW 1.11 or 1.17?

I get a message saying the following:

/// ODD Firmware Update Utility Var2.29C

Start updating the device No.1.
Current Revision>> Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D 1.08 05/07/20
Current Signature = GENERAL
The firmware of target drive is not correct F/W.
This firmware is not supported by this program.

This is the same message from both downloads. Any ideas?

thanks
