It looks like a TEAC DV-W516E... Not so surprising perhaps as I think BenQ handles the manufacturing of this drive.

But hasn't the W516E been out on the market for a while now?

Yeah, but its possible BenQ had an agreement to produce TEAC's drive first or something.

Strange, the CD-R-speeds are lower than with Benq 1640. And the emergency-hole is on the right side, my Benq 1640 have it in the middle.

Perhaps it was designed to Teac's specs, and not their usual. Notice the eject button is not freaky thin on the retail model even! :o

Yeah, that looks like the bezel from the OEM DW1640.

Upps, I have a black Bulk 1640-OEM.

The LED was on the right, the em.-hole on the mid.

My Benq don´t have the thon button like the 1640 that was tested by DD, it looks more like a Plextor 740.

I still have a Teac CD-W 516, it has two LED´s
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more

Because Plextor has choosen to sell a "rebadged" BenQ with the PX-740
who thinks that this news of a "Super Multi" burner from BenQ might be
the prelude of a announcement of a new "Super Multi" burner by Plextor ?

Anyone knows whether the DQ 60 supports quality-scans?
