Nero 5 or 6
Easy CD Creator 5 or 6
Easy Media Creator 7 / 7.5
Sonic Burning Software

And the like. If you use any other burning software and have proof of ownership...you're good. Sent in my first page of my Nero 6 manual...

only Retail software or OEMs too ?
mm...
says 'full retail', not quite clear what this means.
since they're asking for the first page of the manual, i guess what they're requiring is a Retail Box.
too bad, i purchased an upgrade to a full Nero 5.5, i guess that doesn't count :(

You could try a copy of the email confirmation of your purchase (though I guess that could be faked easily enough).

dodecahedron- did you manage to read the rebate PDF with firefox? I tried twice (3 MiB each :o) and was left in limbo! If I were still on dialup, that would just about have eaten up the rebate. :^o

i just don't think that would qualify for the rebate.

Is this just Outpost.com or does it include Fry's stores?

Purchased Nero 7 Ultra at Fry's this morning. In the Friday 8 page ad for $24.99 after rebates. With Fry's the Friday ad only good until Tuesday 10/18

Bob

I already installed it and it works pretty well. Had to e mail Nero tech support about a potential bug or oversight in Nerovision 4 and the ATI Catalyst 5.3 or higher drivers for All in Wonder cards...other than that...pretty slick

OK, here is our local Fry's deal.

Normally, outpost.com mirrors the Friday newspaper ad.

However, today they are grand opening a new store in Oxnard, CA, a dump town about 120 - 150 miles up the coast. So the newspaper ad prices were much lower than outpost.

They were all 1 day specials with no rainchecks and limited quantities and opened an hour earlier than normal.

So it was like Black Friday 5 weeks early.

Nero 7 was $19.99 after $30 mail-in and $20 upgrade.

300Gb Seagate PATA @ $70, AMIR.

18 Cu Ft, Top Mount Refrigerator @ $200, NMIR.

Etc.

Screw it, I went to work. I expect tomorrow's paper add to match outpost deals.

I'm screwed too on the Nero 7 upgrade rebate as I bought an upgrade S/N online to Nero 5, full which I bought with an online S/N as an upgrade to Nero 5 OEM.

Upgrade rebate form also wants UPC code. Outpost form for $30 rebate won't download, broken link. But it probably also wants UPC code.

I wouldn't touch that deal with Wiz's 10 foot pole. I don't have any hope of getting both. I'd go for the $20, AMIR, deal if I thought that I wouldn't get hosed on the rebates.

Sooner or later, and nost likely later, Fry's will have it for $20 and hopefully with collectible rebates.

Cowboy...

Just a thought. You can purchase Nero 6 Ultra from CompUSA this week for $49 with a $20 rebate...THEN...submit the serial number to Nero...and receive a free upgrade to Nero 7 Ultra. BTW...the $30 rebate from Fry's only asks for a copy of the register receipt and a copy of the UPC Barcode from the box...as long as you have a scanner...you're good to go. As far as the Upgrade...purchasing a serial number from Nero...may not cut it. According to the form on the box...it requires the front inside page of the manual from Roxio, Nero, Sonic or the like. See if you can find one..

yeah, we who bought an online version are screwed :(

if both rebates require the UPC, that's crooked!

The $30 rebate requires a copy of the UPC...COPY! The $20 requires the actual UPC. So I scanned a copy of the UPC for the $30 MIR...no biggie. As far as Outpost is concerned...I am pretty sure that right now...the only version you get is boxed. Not even Nero is selling the download version

OK, here is the deal.

The $20 competitive rebate requires proof of ownership of Pinnacle Studio.
I have that and can send page out of manual.

The outpost.com website has a bad link to the $30 rebate form so I can't see that.
Fry's has Nero 7 today at $19.99, AMIR.
They will give a copy of the $30 form at the checkout counter.
I'll check it for copy of UPC code and if it says "original", I'll tell them to cancel item and walk out.

Cowboy...

Here's what happened to me. When I checked out...I received three receipts. One receipt is the actual. The second receipt was for the $20 rebate...a copy...and the third receipt was the actual $30 rebate form. I still had to make a copy of my UPC for the $30 rebate and use the actual UPC for my $20. It was that simple...

Has anyone seen the actual rebate form for the $30 MIR and can send it to me? I'm somewhat interested in this...

Wiz,

I might go to Fry's tomorrow and get it. If so, I'll scan the form and send it to you.

I'll put the Nero 6 in my daughter's PC.

Cowboy...

It's not a form...it comes out of the register as another receipt...a long receipt. As I stated earlier...you get

1. The actual receipt
2. An additional rebate receipt to be used with the $20 rebate
3. A third rebate receipt which is also the form for the $30 rebate

In the case of #3...you also need a copy of #1 and a copy of the UPC barcode from the bottom of the box.

In the case of #2...you need the inside cover page of Nero 5/6 or competing product and the actual UPC barcode from the bottom of the box...

Is it really worth to pay $79.99 for 7 when for all practical purposes the 6 version can do the same thing? Good luck to al those who thing they will ever get their $20 & $30 MIR back. Only time will tell.

Doesn't matter, it's all part of a game.

Some go to Las Vegas and spend hundreds on games.

I'm in the rebate game. Don't lose nearly as often.

And I usually have a CD or hard drive to show for it.

TCAS, when are we meeting for lunch? How 'bout that sandwich deli on Clark & Willow sometime?

I'll check the board in the mornings.

Hi Everyone,

I just read this thread, I didn't think it was anything I had to check up on or respond too, but it looks like I should have so that I could have made a comment from the begging in regards to Free upgrades to Nero 7.

On our Nero Web page where we make the statement that we are offering a Free upgrade to Nero 7 for those users who purchase Nero 6 between the times of September 1, 2005 and November 30, 2005, we also state that this only applies to those who purchased it at the Regular price, which is $99.99.

We did add an addendum stating that we will also honor those who recived the $20 Competitive Rebate. But any rebates beyond this will not qualify for a free Nero 7 Upgrade.

You can confirm this by going to:

http://www2.nero.com/nero7/ENU/Nero_7_P ... grade.html

Sorry, I know some are not going to be happy to be made aware of this limitation. :-?

Regards,

Craig
