What is Power-Burn on Nero 5.5?

I noticed that this box is checked as a default in the CDCopy burning options menu - what does it mean?

it's a buffer-underrun-prevention technology, like Smart-Burn, Burn Proof, Seamless-Link etc.
i think that's the name of Sony's technology. is it a Sony drive ?
