The $20 one is an upgrade rebate.... but those don't work if the product isn't purchased at regular price I thought :o

and I didn't see the $50 one online at all :-?

Well, being as it's in the Best Buy ad, I would think BB either a> cleared it with Nero, or b> will be forced into making it good. (i.e., it may take some screaming)

Although since the $50MIR is the "big" one, getting Nero 7 for even $20 AR isn't bad.

(it's the Black Friday ad so the rebates won't be online for a while..)

OK, here is my deal.

I've changed my mind about Black Friday and I am going to go.

The Best Buy ad was just too overwhelmingly tantalizing.
I'm going to line up at my local BB in Westminster, CA at 10PM Thanksgiving night.

However, there is one thing that I must get now to bring with me as I will be in line for 8 hours.

It's THIS!

See you there, TCAS!

Playo is a brand made up by some desperate former Ritek USA employee's who got sacked for doing things that pissed off head office. The media uses fake TY code discs I believe. Nothing I'd recommend, THAT'S for sure! (Ian actually got some, so try asking him for more details  )

Just so everyone knows, Sam's Club has an everyday price of $10.xx for a 100-pack of Memorex slim jewel cases. If you have a Sam's club ID, this is the best deal I know of.

Just bought some 16x Verbatim -R media there last week, around $40 for a 100-spindle. Probably not an incredible deal, but the media has been good so far, and will burn at full speed on my NEC 3500A (latest stock firmware).

Thanks, media guru! I await Ian's response...I just now did a forum query for either playo or abcron and nothing appeared. They are bottom dollar, so your assessment doesn't surprise me. ;) If he got some decent scanning results, though, I might be tempted!

There isn't, Vinnie, I just needed a way to get the joke going.

Apologies for derailing your comedy train. #-o The only place I'm thinking of visiting come that fateful Friday is Staples...

P.S. I prefer this site for the latest BF2005 gossip, rumors and ads: http://bf2005.com/ - more robust, IMO.

Hey, I gotta' new plan and it's a good one, too.

Last year, even at midday on Black Friday, there was no parking anywhere in the vicinity of Fry's. Adjoining businesses were renting out their parking lot spaces.

I'm going to Fry's at 8PM Thanksgiving evening, drive into their lot and sleep in my Jeep.

Then at 3AM when they are circling around looking to park their cars while the line is building, I'll offer to vacate my spot for $100. :P

Hey, thanks and a big 10-4, Hox.

That made me reconsider and it got me to the best solution.

I don't need that portable crapper, after all.

I'll go to the senior section of the drug store and get some Depends - then I'll let go, right there and then in the line.
