I bought some of that at Big Lots ($17.99 for 50, I saw it was Made in Malaysia [at least this package] and was hoping it was MCC, but it wasn't). It's decent media, not GREAT but if it dropped any more (since $17.99/50 is a pretty average price) it's great for discs for friends or something.

Any scans of it? How's the quality of it?

My discs of choice for friends were the NexxTech DVD+R media (CMC 8x) that Circuit City puts on sale for $6.99/25 pack. The BenQ 1640 drive burns that very nicely. The scans consistently come out better than most 16x media I've burned.

You are right thegdog, I do have the same experience with nexXtech both +/-R, I use the -R for recording on my Pioneer stand alond DVR-500 and +R on my BenQ 1640 or NEC 3500. They are decent but as you said not so great. I am almost out of them but not my choice for next purchase since there are pretty good top brand media on sale for $17.99/pack of 50 these days.

This week? I thought it was funny on their web site that the 50 pack was $12.99 and the 25 packs were $14.99.
