Postby Selena21 on Wed Mar 15, 2006 5:59 pm

I just bought this dvd writer yesterday and when trying to use it today I found out that it reads cd's and burns them too but when inserting a dvd,if it's already copied it could read it and run it but if it's a new one it doesn't read it.I tried three different brands of dvd's.Is it something of the software or is the Pioneer DVR-111D defective, pls?

I am not sure I understood your question.

Are you saying that new dvd recordings that you make on new dvd discs on this drive can not be played?

Make sure the software is finalizing the DVD after burning it. Look in the options or configuration of the software you are using.

I think you're saying that if you put a blank DVD in, it won't show anything in Explorer?

That's normal. Until you burn something, you'll get weird errors if you try to double-click on the drive. You need to use a program like Nero or Easy Media Creator (or whatever came with the drive) to put something on it. Those programs should correctly recognize it as blank.
