Ricoh DVD+RW Sucks

What was that?

Ricoh DVD+RW Sucks

Postby Alektron on Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:45 pm

One of the DVD burners that I bought (ie. Liteon 411WS) came with a Ricoh DVD+RW. This disc now has visible spots on the write layer. It won't read anymore. Stay away from this brand!

Disc = [DVD+RW:RICOHJPN-W11-001]

Yikes...better back up some discs...
BenQ 1655, BenQ 1620, LG 4167, Plex PX-716SA, Samsung SH-S162L, SH-S182M, Pioneer 111D, Lite-On SHM-165H6S and 1.9TB of HDDs to feed 'em and an X2/4800 to crunch for 'em.

Not quite, but the vast, vast majority of Ricoh media is made in Ritek factories. Of course, Ricoh coded media uses Ricoh technology (dye, etc) and probably Ricoh stampers, too. It's really impossible to guarantee quality because at the end of the day it's Ritek doing the manufacturing.
