BenQ Unveils 18x DVD±RW At Computex

Postby Ian on Tue Jun 13, 2006 7:54 am

Somehow I missed this the other day. According to PC Watch, BenQ had the DW1800 and DW1805 on display at Computex.

http://pc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/2006/0609/comp12.htm

Three models ("DW1800" corresponding to 18-X speed or less record in DVD±R media, "DW1805", and "EW180B") had been exhibited as other new products. DW1805 seems to correspond to LightScribe where it draws to the label side by the laser, and to have the possibility that it is put on the market by Japan within the year.

The article also mentions that there's an SATA version, the DW180S.

1805 ->Solid Burn -> philips nexperia chipset ?

Certainly seems that way :o
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
