Craig, 7.5.0.2 a legit version?

Postby bigblu91 on Mon Aug 21, 2006 2:23 pm

I guess I'll ask it.
It's being reported of a version 7.5.0.2 is on the net. Is this a legit version? When I say legit, I mean one created by Ahead(Nero). If it is a legit version then why is it not up to be D/L'd from the creators? How can this get out? It's being said there are noticable improvements.

I'd like to see if there are, but I want it from the source. I won't use the update feature because it flat out sucks. Sorry, but it does. It doesn't show yes/no there are updates available. It runs you back to a reinstall. Who else does this? I've never seen an app's update feature that at some point doesn't say "yes, there is an update" or "no, you have the latest version".

This is about 9 months into the public release. You guys are coming up on the time for a new version and I hope you aren't about to charge a fee to 7 users for another upgrade yet.

From the comments I've read, its probably a leaked beta. I'd wait for it to be on Nero's website or FTP's before downloading.

I sure hope they don't charge for an upgrade, especially considering they haven't worked out all the bugs in version 7. Want bug fixes? Buy the next version. #-o

So was 6.6 an update or paid upgrade from 6? If it was an upgrade, I will bet 7.5 will be a paid upgrade from 7. If so, I will be done with Nero in the future. I would bet others will be done also.

I'll wait and see I guess. :-?

Nero 6.6 was a free update for Nero 6 owners.
let's hope Nero 7.5 is the same.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for my long absence. Till I get a replacement for my OEM Tech Manager, I'm doing two jobs and time is something I was already lacking before taking on this extra work. :-(

Yes, Nero 7.5.0.2 is a leaked Beta release. This is a precursur to our Nero 7 Ultra Editoin 'Enhanced' release due to ship in the stores on Sept. 1st, and be available on the website by Sept. 15th.

The difference in time between the two is due to the need for Retail to be shipped by a ceratian date, and the fact that we could not get all the changes we wanted in the build by Sept 1st.

You will find significant changes and improvements. And yes, like the Nero 6.6 release, this will be a free update for existing Nero 7 users.

We could not charge for an update, when Nero 7 was not yet where we wanted it to be, which is what we've stated from the first release of Nero 7.

You will see a definate change in the update process, and I'm sure you'll be elated to see the changes we made in the Nero ProductSetup window.

Regards,

Craig

Sounds great. Nero 6.6 finally made 6 into a good, solid product. Hopefully 7.5 does the same for 7, so I can take the box off my bookshelf from last Thanksgiving and finally install it. :)

Regardless what manufactures do to satisfy the customers some people always complain and nag and try to see the negative side of things.

It doesn't help either that the people that are generally satisfied don't say anything.

Hi Coosanders,

I hope this update resolves your issue with SoundTrax, but if it does, we got lucky. We have never been able to duplicate your issue, nor have I had any other customers report this problem with SoundTrax not installing. So any fixes are purely by accident. 8)

Hi RC213,

Yes, this update will work with any Nero 7 build, be it Retail or OEM.

Hi Mystery Man,

No, this release will not support Vista. But we expect to have posted a build that officially support Vista in about 3 months time. This is not an exact time, and I will not give an exact time, I'm being vague on purpose. This is just to say that somewhere within 4 months time we will come out with a release that supports Vista. It could be within the first week, or the last week of the 4 months. :-)
