Problems installing LG GSA-H10N

Postby gshdet on Wed Sep 20, 2006 10:04 am

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me.

I bought a LG GSA-H10N DVD Rewriter and when i connect it, i get a balloon in the bottom right corner saying new hard ware detected or something similar to that, then i get a blue screen with the error code ***STOP: 0X0000007E (0X00000005, 0X804EA21D, 0XF792EAEB, 0XF792E7E8)

I have no idea what this means or how i can get the rewriter to work.

Maybe i could try try installing the drivers manually but i cant find them anywhere.

If anyone has any advice it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

James

The drive uses your computer's standard IDE drivers. Nothing special is required.

Check and see if you have any of those virtual CD/DVD programs installed. Otherwise, update your motherboard's chipset and/or IDE drivers.

hello gshdet, welcome to CDRLabs.

1. try installing the drive in another computer.
if the same thing happens there it's most likely a defective drive, return it to the store where you bought or have it serviced.

2. try replacing the IDE cable to which the drive is connected. also make sure the jumpers are set correctly.
