Well, MM, until you get your card back, this will have to do.

I got something new today, also.

These Stingray Boots! :D

Absolutely, MonsterMan!

Wasn't really a store. Really more of a showroom place.

They are custom made from Murga Boots.

So it's more like buying a new car, like you drive it home. :P

Better yet, download this song (Wal*Mart has it):

Rednecks, White Socks and Blue Ribbon Beer by Johnny Russell.

One of my favorites.

I got a new toy too this weekend...

But it's a Pioneer DEH-P680MP in-dash, with the iPod adapter kit....

I is a happy camper. :) Just gotta replace the stock speakers in the Civic with the Infinity 6.5"s I've had sitting around from my previous vehicle, and I'll be all set.

P.S. It looks like they used Dolph for one of the movies the OLED display plays. Nice work if you can get it, I hope they paid you well.

Hey, that's a good 'un, LW.

I was looking at that, too.

But I got a something JVC xx420 for my wife's Jeep.
Also go the Sirius tuner box that goes under the seat or behind the dash that can be controlled from the in dash head unit.

Your Pioneer will do the same.

So far, I'm liking it a lot (after narrowing it down to the Pioneer and a Clarion model, the Pioneer won). The iPod interface is near-perfect with my 30gb 3rd-gen iPod. I used to only use my iPod once in a blue moon (it came to me as a job perk), but I think I'll be using it a lot now. I use WinAmp and the mlPod plugin to work with it, since I don't care for iTunes.

Only two downsides. 1) Like every head unit manufacturer, they need (IMO) to stop making high-gloss front panels. Some sort of anti-glare coating so that one can read the front face even in very sunny weather would be helpful. 2) It takes three button presses to get to the Pause control. Considering how many times my cell rings in the car (and yes, I have a bluetooth headset to stay safe :)), the Pause or Attenuator function ought to be a one-touch button. The remote does have an attenuator button, but I prefer not to use the remote if I can; I'd rather only have to reach for the stereo.

I can't justify the cost of satellite radio, even though traditional stations are lousy. If XM or Sirius still had a lifetime subscription option I'd consider it, but with the ability to burn MP3's to CD or keep them on an iPod, plus being within reasonable range to an NPR station, I'm fine without it.
