Akiba PC Hotline has reported that Pioneer's new SATA DVD writers are out in Japan. Prices are about 6500 Yen ($54US) for the DVR-212D and 7000 Yen ($58US) for the DVR-212.

Let's hope Pioneer sees the light and brings these to the US. I'm not holding my breath considering we still can't get the DVR-112 over here.
