is there something smaller & better than nero?

SlySoft, Alcohol, VSO Software, NTI, etc.

is there something smaller & better than nero?

Postby seanc on Tue Mar 06, 2007 1:46 pm

I've been a nero user for years and have come to conclude I don't need a program that's 100+ plus meg for my burning needs. I primarily burn data dvd and cd's...and occasionally an audio cd from mp3's or .wavs.

What's out there for $20-$50 that works well and gets updates to support new burners?

Nero seems bloated. What's the firefox equivalent of nero?
Thank you!

Try out CDBurnerXP Pro. It's completely free!

There's the Build mode in ImgBurn for relatively simple data burning tasks (e.g. no multi-session).

It's free and it should support all CD/DVD burners (and Blu-ray IIRC).

Thank you Wesociety and DrageMester. Do you know with imgburn, will it do anything with audio files (burn a playable audio cd?) I may be asking for too much for free...sure looks like a nice tight program!

I'll start playing...thank you.

No, Imgburn does not have audio conversion capabilities.
Use CDBurnerXP Pro for that! (audio CD option)

As Wesociety said, ImgBurn cannot burn Audio CDs from audio files.

Many people like the free and simple Burrrn program for making Audio CDs. I haven't tried it myself though (I use J. River Media Center and Exact Audio Copy instead).
