Anyone buying an Xbox 360 Elite?

Postby Ian on Wed Mar 28, 2007 2:22 pm

If it included an HD DVD drive, I might be tempted to buy one but the black case and larger hard drive just don't justify the $480 price tag.

Thoughts?

That's what they should have released in the first place.

But, too expensive.

Maybe after it's under $300.

How do you say it is what they should have released in the first place and then say you still wouldn't buy it?

Heck no! I want neither the 360 nor the PS3! I want a Wii! I'll get a Wii when the price comes down a bit more.

Yeah, not interested in the Xbox360 or PS3. We are happy with the Wii... Had one since February 1. I think the kids have played it everyday since (with the exception of those 70ºF+ days here in SE. WI... The kids enjoy Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Super Monkey Ball, and I like Zelda and Excite Truck... Good fun!

I still don't own a gaming console, but I have considered it.

I like the Wii for the gaming.
I like the Xbox 360 for the HD DVD add-on capability.
I like the PS3 for the Blu-ray player.

So if I really wanted to buy a gaming console just for the gaming, I would probably buy a Wii.

With demand continuing to be much higher then production capabilities, to the point where Nintendo has now had to reduce their advertising temporarily... I don't think they'll be dropping their price any time soon. Certainly not this year! If anything, they need to put money into increasing production capacity :P

As for the XBox 360, I'm just not interested enough in first person shooters to want one. I'll pick up a PS3 for RPG's, DDR, and the Blu-Ray player eventually though. In the meantime, I'm happy with my Wii.

I think MS would have been better off releasing the 360 with the bigger hard drive...the 20GB drive is just too tiny.

And I will buy one...once the price drops.

If this would have been the launch unit, and priced at $399, then I may just have nabbed one...

But really...$400+ on a game system? No thanks...especially since the main games I want to play are on the "Live Arcade" (read: Castlevania: SOTN).

I was listening to the Windows Weekly podcast this morning and Paul T. mentioned that he bought a PS3 and used it as a business expense. I wonder if I could do that with an Xbox Elite...
