Showing as a CD drive is normal. Windows really isn't smart enough to tell the difference between a CD or DVD drive and it will often change. For example, the drives in my computer will change from DVD-RAM Drive to CD Drive.

I'm not sure why the drive isn't writing discs though. What software are you using? Did you install any software on your computer recently that might have had an effect on this?

Software is ASUSTEK and Nero D068 Version2 V6.6.1.61 OEM SUITE 2
which has come with the ASUS.It has been working untill I get this problem.
Other burning programme Nero 7 that already I have in my computer for long time.

I have downloaded ADOBE PHOTOSHOP that day.Is that the reason?
If so, what should I do?

Please.........

Thanks in advance.

If by "downloaded" you mean installed a pirate copy, it is quite possible to be the cause of your problems.... you never know if a virus or something gets installed. Seems a little suspicious timing wise, to me... scan your computer for viruses and spyware and uninstall Photoshop to see if anything changes.

By using Nero vision , after transcoding it says "Write - lead in " and started to write also and in few seconds it says 'Burning process failed"
My question is may the DVD is bad ( PHILIPS always good)
It gives the folloing report,

I have 10 DVD+R and i tried in 4 DVD's again and again.

I am not so familiar with computer report .Can any one help me?

Thanks

Philips media is very bad in my experience-- try to find Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs and try it.

Yeah, looking at the log, I'm seeing "Power calibration error" and "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once". These are usually indicators of media problems.

Philips media can also be good too though.

I have some 2.4x and 8x Philips DVD+R that burn extremely well. Both have CMC MID codes.
