I prefer Nero but Roxio's software does the job just as well.

Depending on what your going to be using it for. If it was me I'd grab the freeware stuff first. I burn all my video & data DVD's w/ ImgBurn, & DVDShrink 3.2 is an excellent if old dvd video program. CD Burner XP Pro is a good cd audio burner, but ImgBurn is going to have that feature soon. I personally only use Nero's scanning program, CDSpeed. I'm not kicking Nero, just saying there are excellent alternatives.

I'm trying not to, but Nero 7 has been a major let down vs. the Nero's of the past. Seems they lost their focus.

Clinton, If you have Nero stick with it for your day to day stuff. But for data and DVD Video burning, take a look at the free program ImgBurn... It is outstanding.

I thought the name "hoxlund" looked familiar when I saw that auction earlier. I considered bidding on it but I will defer since I have 2 x 712A and one 712UF already and I don't want to jack the price up for a fellow CD enthusiast
