My LG GGW-H20L will only burn the the Blu-ray BD-RE 2X disk at 1X and it takes about 3 hours to do so. Nero initially reports that it will take 45 minutes to burn the 23 GB of data (8995 KB/s) but as time goes by it ends up being close to 3 hours! I am burning large (500 - 800MB) video files for data storage. No transcoding is taking place...just writing the raw files to disc.
I have a Abit IP35 Pro MB with a Core2 Duo running at 3.2Ghz and 4GB of RAM. Using a Seagate SATA 3.0GB/S drive along with an LG GGW-H20L burner and Verbatim BD-RE 2X disc. I have also tried Ridata and LG discs and all burn at the same slow RE rate
Nero 8 Ultra is the program being used although I don't think it is the program hanging me up. The buffers are always mostly full so it has the data.
Could the BD-RE 2X disk limit write speed to 1X even though you can select a 2X speed in the recording software (Nero, ImgBurn)?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Michael
