NEC 7200S or Pioneer 216

Postby apvm on Mon Oct 27, 2008 4:53 pm

Which one is a better all rounder? I heard the Pioneer 216 is not as good as the 215 and the NEC 7200S uses same chip as the 215 so basically perform the same...any comment? Tia

The Pioneer is the faster of the two but the NEC has better quality if you don't factor in Pioneer's Optimum Write Speed technology.

Thanks, I ordered the NEC since I never had a NEC before and want to fry it and I read it can handle most DVD-R quite well, I have the LG GH22 which handle DVD+R well, so I think I am ok until one of them breaks...thanks again. BTW, I don't burn any media faster than 8X...at most 12X so speed is not really matters me.

Both are good ones, but the 216 need a bit time to be as good as the 215
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more
