Pioneer DVR-216D noise?

Postby SkaarjMaster on Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:44 am

OK, I did my first burn with the new Pioneer SATA burner (on a TY CD-R, no DVDs yet) a couple nights ago and it made some awful noises during the burn, but the burn turned out fine. It just seemed like it was struggling to get the disc moving and just didn't sound right. Of course, I'm still running with the computer case open, so maybe that has something to do with it. Is this normal for the drive?

I have the DVR-2920Q which is like the DVR-216D and I really didn't notice any noises that were really out of the ordinary.

Well, now that I can't hear everything, it sounds fine.;) I'll let you know how the first few burns go and I'll be back to report the scan results from burns with 3 different burners sometime within the next couple months.
