The .NRG file extension is a Nero image file.

Why not just burn it with Nero as it was intended?

Maybe he/she has downloaded a file in a .nrg extension but uses cdrwin. In this case you can use any aplication for images, like winiso, which can convert from any image format (.ccd of clonecd, .c2d 0f winoncd, .nrg...) to iso in a few seconds, so that you can burn it with any burning software. I personally use winoncd. Good luck.

Or, download a trial version of Nero or, even better buy Nero(an excellent tool).

No, offense to CDRWin folk, but I just tried CDRWin 5.0 which I understand is not from Goldenhawk, but it gives the whole CDRWin franchise a really bad name. I'd sooner use the Hp burning tools that came with my system than that piece of cr***y, buggy software  . Just sour grapes I guess. :-?

I respect your opinion, Nero is an excellent tool and much better than before. I bought a Yam CRW-F1 2 months ago and Nero was included, i use it for Disk t@2, but i still prefer Winoncd´s interface, so i think that Nero is not the only good and complete burning tool.
Anyway i thought that his problem doesn´t require necessary to buy or use Nero ( if you don´t like it, or don´t want to buy it) to burn it. Winiso or winimage are very useful tools is you download a lot of software like me, i run winmx everytime...and i find that a lot of games and images are . bin, so i always change them to .iso.

Both WinISO and WinImage are shareware programs, just like Nero. Since these are not freeware programs, there is no advantage to using trial versions of them to extract a .NRG file to hard drive instead of just using a trial version of Nero to burn a .NRG file.

The freeware file imaging utilities IsoBuster and CDmage can both extract practically all CD images to hard drive.
