Not much is really known about the Optorite drives. Check this page for more info:

hey, that is the same drive I got at circuit city, IOmagic brand. Mine was bad, so I should get a new one this week. I know nothing about that brand, so I was wondering my self if any one knew anything about it, is it worth keeping?

So far, i can only burn at 24 x and 32X since i have only 16x fuji and 16x neon Imation media.
I probably test it once i buy 40x or 48x media later, however i failed at burning at 48x on media which came with Retail box(it says 1~32x).
Also i had to update my firmware to 150E(48x) cause it was 110E(40x) by Nero when i installed it first time.
I havent decide it yet either keep this driver or not.
M17, how much u paid urs?

Black friday sale,
$80 minus 2 $30 mail in rebates.
I'm wondering is it worth $20, assuming cc and iomagic send their rebates.
