Infodisc CD-RWs - Any good?

Postby glock20rocks on Fri Dec 06, 2002 11:14 am

Just picked up a pack of Memorex 700MG/80min 12x CD-RW's. I just got 'em because they were the only 700MG RW's I could find. The discs id as Infodisc 4x-10x under CD Speed; Nere will burn 'em at 12x (every 10x RW I've will, though).

My question: Are they any good? I've never heard of Infodisc before...

I have used a lot of discs that used the Infodisc dye, Infodisc is a Korean company (correct me if I am wrong).

Disc Manufacturer: InfoDisc Technology Co., Ltd.
Reflective layer: Phase change
Media type: CD-ReWritable

How's the quality?

9 out of 10 discs failed out of the box, regardless of what speed I burned at.

The High Speed (10x) Memorex discs got bashed pretty good over here too: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php ... adid=42555

Just burned a full disc an ran a scandisk on it. Came out pretty good; only 4 blocks where damaged. Don't know if that'll LAST though...

If you can find them, I have a AOpen 700mb CDRW.

I overburned it slightly at 12x for music and it came out perfectly.

I haven't tried it with data though.

good cdrs, cdrws never have errors. if there are damaged sectors on a brand new cdrw then it isnt good.

Let's not forget that this is a Lite On 48125W drive; a drive not exactly known for high quality writing :(
