It seems that User's Side is selling one or two units of 120GB Maxtor Serial ATA HDD bundled with PCI Serial ATA card.

120GB SATA HDD + 120GB SATA HDD + Promise SATA 2-channel = 58,580 Yen (about 500 US.)

I need some new hard drives but I've been holding off for SATA ones. I'd almost pay $500 for two 120GB drives and a SATA card. Still a little too expensive though.

My next PC purchase is going to be next summer, probably Julyish. I will plan on putting dual 120-160 GB SATA drives in a RAID. If not to free up my IDE channels, then just to have thoes neat new cables! I just hope the drive makers don't take us up the butt on prices. Just because it's new doesn't mean it has to cost $150 more than its PATA cousin.

I think I'll wait untill SATA-300 comes out or until chipsets come with native SATA support and HDD drvies are wide spread. That would be around Q2 2003 for the chipsets and 2004 for the SATA-300.

The major review sites have Seagate Serial ATA HDDs waiting to be reviewed now.

Don't use one of those converters. You will get less performance than ATA100, as it converts the signal twice...
