Burn baby burn!

VS08 is not a firmware upgrade; it's an overclock. Try flashing it back to real CRX195E1 firmware: ZYS5.

Thank you! There is a much, much more complete mtkflash guide here, written by OCFreak at cdfreaks.com. I should update those instructions since the files are gone now...

Dave
I went back to original firmware as you said. No difference. I am still not able to detect any CDs put in my drive.
Can drive hardwrae fail but still window explorer and cd writer software will show all the drive properties etc with correct firmware and type of harware.
Is there a mechinsm to find whether the drive harware is working?

Thanks

Ahmed

Well, I really have no idea what happened to your drive. If you can, try installing it on other computers or reformat your computer.
