is my snyo bp1700p repairable

i have a problem with a sanyo bp1700p the firmware was upgraded to ver.1.05 and writing programs will only see the drive as a 2 speed writer as a reader it is fine but it will not burn a thing .
I have flashed the drive back to version 1.01 still no luck i wondered about those jumpers on the back that say
factory use only can i restore it to a previous state with those jumpers.
am i able to take the drive back to my supplier even though it has been flashed or is it my own fault for updating the firmware.
please could you tell me my options thank you in advance

I would return the drive, you were using the official fware and did nothing wrong !
